Your guide will meet you at the ferry pier on the Luang Prabang side of the Mekong River. You will begin your experience with a scenic boat ride, crossing  the Mekong River whilst enjoying views of landscapes and local riverside life. Upon arrival in Chom Phet District you will continue by tuk-tuk (approx. 15 minutes) through the countryside to reach the Khmu Connections Cultural venue.

Guests will receive a warm welcome from their host and enjoy a refreshing herbal drink made from local plants-an introduction to Khmu hospitality.

Learn about daily life in a Khmu village through an explanation of traditional customs and beliefs, spiritual practices and family and community values. This is a respectful and genuine opportunity to engage with local people.

Guests will participate in a Khmu Baci (Sou Khuan) Ceremony which is one of the most important spiritual rituals in Lao culture.
During the ceremony, you will be offered  blessings for health, happiness, and safe travels. You will receive symbolic cotton strings which will be  tied around your wrists, representing protection, harmony, and
good fortune.

After the ceremony, you will spend time with members of the local community which will be followed by a home-style dinner which includes a selection of local Laotian dishes. 

At the conclusion of the ceremony, guests will return to Luang Prabang by tuk-tuk and ferry, arriving at the ferry pier at approximately 8pm.
