Khmu Connections offers visitors an opportunity to experience the rich cultural heritage of the Khmu, one of the oldest and largest ethnic groups in Laos. Located near Luang Prabang, this community-based cultural experience is dedicated to sharing Khmu traditions through authentic, hands-on activities led by local people. Guests can learn about traditional farming, handicrafts, music, food, storytelling, and the spiritual beliefs that have shaped Khmu life for generations. More than a cultural attraction, Khmu Connections aims to preserve and celebrate Khmu identity by fostering meaningful exchanges between visitors and locals, it helps ensure that Khmu knowledge, customs, and craftsmanship continue to thrive for future generations. Director - Xieng Manyvong

At the forefront of Khmu Connections is our Director, Xieng Manyvong — a passionate ambassador of Khmu culture and heritage. With warmth, energy, and a true love for people, Xieng welcomes every guest as if they were family. Born of Khmu heritage himself, Xieng has made it his mission to preserve and celebrate the traditions of his community. Under his guidance, Khmu Connections has become more than a cultural centre — it is a living bridge between visitors and the Khmu way of life. Whether sharing stories, introducing guests to artisans, or guiding visitors through immersive cultural tours, Xieng ensures that every experience is meaningful, memorable, and filled with genuine connection. His vision is simple yet powerful: to foster pride within the Khmu community while offering the world an authentic journey into its rich cultural heritage.

Our Venue

Nestled in the peaceful countryside just across the Mekong River from Luang Prabang, Khmu Connections is a community-based cultural centre dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich heritage of the Khmu people. The venue provides an authentic setting where visitors can experience Khmu culture through hands-on activities, storytelling, traditional music, local cuisine, farming demonstrations, and artisan crafts. Khmu Connections was established in October 2025 and continues to provide authentic Khmu experiences for people visiting Laos from all over the world.

Our Staff

We are the people of Khmu Connections—a team drawn from the local Khmu community, working together to share our culture, to welcome our guests and support one another. Each of us brings our own knowledge and skills, whether it be demonstrating handicrafts or sharing stories, music and customs passed down through our families. Khmu Connections is more than a workplace. It is a way to keep our traditions alive and to take pride in who we are. We work side by side to create a warm and genuine experience for every visitor, offering a window into our everyday life and the values that shape our community.
